With football World Cup fever slowly but surely taking a grip on the country, there was most definitely a buzz taking place at The Rosewood Hotel in London last Thursday night at our World Cup Preview Dinner, where we were joined by a number of legends from the world of football. Guests were not only treated to a delicious meal but were also entertained by a fascinating panel discussion chaired by the lovely Charlotte Jackson, where Sir Geoff Hurst, John Barnes and Graeme Le Saux gave us an insight into their thoughts and predictions for the tournament. This years dinner supported the charity Walking With The Wounded, who raise funds for the re-education and re-training of our wounded servicemen and women, supporting them in finding new careers outside the Military. We can’t thank our guests enough for their generosity on the night at the live and silent auctions, raising £15,692 for this amazing cause.

Thank-you to all the footballing legends for their time and who made it such a memorable night; Sir Geoff Hurst, John Barnes, Graeme Le Saux, Gary Mabbutt, Tony Woodcock, Kenny Sansom, Steve Sedgley, John Scales, Luther Blissett, Perry Groves and Leroy Rosenior. We would also like to thank our gorgeous MC for the night Charlotte Jackson.

And finally a big thank you to our event sponsor, Dick Turpin and Artemis, without whom we would not have been able to host such a fantastic night.

It only remains for me to wish our English boys out in Brazil the best of luck and keep everything crossed that on the 13th July, Steven Gerrard raises the FIFA World Cup trophy high above his head!
